Umatilla County Historical Society Raises Over $350,000, Begins Instillation of Umatilla Gold: The History of Wheat in Umatilla County
 
The Umatilla County Historical Society has raised over $350,000 and will soon begin instillation of the exhibit, Umatilla Gold: The History of Wheat in Umatilla County. The Historical Society has been carefully planning, strategizing, and fundraising for more than 4-years to raise the money to install this exhibit. The exhibit will open in August 2019 and will run for 10-years. To accomplish this amazing goal, the Historical Society has received support from a wide variety of sources.

Umatilla County Historical Installs New LED Sign with Money Raised by Local Donors and Travel Oregon
 
The Umatilla County Historical Society recently installed a new LED sign on its Heritage Station Museum Building. This sign was paid for through generous donations from local businesses and organizations and through a $10,000 grant from Travel Oregon small competitive grant program. This grant was written by Eastern Oregon Business Source Community Development Coordinator Nick Nash. The sign was created and installed by the local sign shop, Sign Men.

Pilot Rock High School Students Internship
 
Three Pilot Rock High School students recently began work on a School to Careers internship with Eastern Oregon Business Source. In this internship, Kaitelyn Evans, Christian Haskell, and Bryson Thornton are working closely with EOBS Community Development Coordinator Nick Nash to Capture Janelle and Brent Hampton’s vision for an economic development project in Pilot Rock called Schoolhouse Village.
